Every day, we strive to enrich the lives of those who walk
through our doors. You can help ensure the success of these
efforts by supporting the Library through the Tulare County
Library Foundation.
Recently, the Library received a $27,000 grant
from First Five of Tulare County, to buy five
Peek-A-Book kiosks and the accompanying
books. The kiosks play video introductions for
six different picture books geared to children
ages two through six to sharpen their interest in
reading. The six book titles change periodically.
The kiosks are in the Dinuba, Exeter, Earlimart,
Springville, and Visalia branches and are used
by children 3,000 or more times in a month.
The units cost approximately $5,000 each and
the Library Foundation is providing naming
opportunities for donors who may be interested
in helping to provide kiosks. The Ivanhoe, Orosi,
Strathmore and Tipton Branches each need a
unit.
