Greatest Need
A library is more than just a place to check out a book or read a magazine. It is a resource of information which serves all ages and ethnic groups. It is a real and compelling connection with our past and a dynamic pipeline to our future. It is the place where thoughts, feelings and philosophies emerge on the written page.

However, It's not just books anymore! People of all ages do enjoy the selection of CDs, videotapes, and audio recordings available at the library. Students may use the library's online resources to generate grade-boosting reports or the inter-library service to obtain needed books. All may benefit from old worlds and the new horizons through computer cyberspace.

A library is the hub and anchor of society, holding us together in knowledge and information even as it promotes new ideas and thoughts. Within the walls of the library we are all children, eager to learn, waiting to be taught.

But, tax dollars are not keeping up with inflation - let alone operational expenses. Every year it becomes harder and harder to support Tulare County Library's expenses - not to mention creating and expanding the outreach programs so desperately needed by our branches.
